The list of new WeMo sensors includes magnetic window and door sensors, a personal keychain sensor that can track a person’s entry or exit from the home, a room motion sensor, and an alarm sensor that sends a notification to smartphones if it detects the siren of an existing security alarm. There’s even a water sensor that Belkin claims provides „unprecedented insight” into household water usage from a single sensor that measures pressure change vibrations caused by faucets turning or toilets flushing.

To najciekawsza seria akcesoriów do inteligentnego domu – oferuje sterowanie przez iOS, automatyzację przez IFTTT. Niestety, Belkin wycofał się z Polski. Bez sensu.

(…) sources confirmed that Apple won’t actually be making any devices or providing a first-party software layer within iOS for controlling them, but rather just slapping a logo on the box of devices that work with the iPhone and meet certain requirements.

Ma być to bardziej zbliżone do programu „Made for iPhone” – Apple będzie po prostu zatwierdzał produkty firm trzecich. Nie będzie też API w iOS – zakładam, że wszystko będzie sterowane dedykowanymi aplikacjami. To ma być pierwszy krok, po którym rzekomo nastąpi dopiero prawdziwa ofensywa na ten rynek – podobnie jak Siri Eyes Free było wstępem do CarPlay.

Apple przygotowuje ‚Inteligentny Dom’ i pokaże go na WWDC →

Apple is readying a new software platform that would turn the iPhone into a remote control for lights, security systems and other household appliances, as part of a move into the “internet of things”.

Apple plans to take on rivals Google and Samsung and make a “big play” in the world of smart home technology at its Worldwide Developer Conference on June 2 in San Francisco, according to people familiar with the matter.

This will reinforce the view, held by some in Silicon Valley, that Jetsons-style home automation is the next frontier in technology as growth in smartphone sales begins to slow in developed markets.
