Josh Topolsky o opuszczeniu Bloomberga →

Joshua Topolsky:

The reality in media right now is that there is an enormous amount of noise. There are countless outlets (both old and new) vying for your attention, desperate not just to capture some audience, but all the audience. And in doing that, it feels like there’s a tremendous watering down of the quality and uniqueness of what is being made. Everything looks the same, reads the same, and seems to be competing for the same eyeballs. In both execution and content, I find myself increasingly frustrated with the rat race for maximum audience at any expense. It’s cynical and it’s cyclical — which makes for an exhausting and frankly boring experience.

I think people want something better, something more meaningful. Something a lot less noisy.

Tworzenie aplikacji dla Apple TV – Bloomberg zdradza kilka szczegółów →

Jordan Kahn:

Apple has already streamlined the process of building its current lineup of Apple TV apps— which mostly consist of streaming video content— to the point where developers can quickly and easy build apps through an easy-to-use SDK, much like on iOS. The team behind the development of the Bloomberg app, which consisted of two developers under Bloomberg’s head of mobile and connected devices Oke Okaro, told me that Apple’s toolkit, an SDK of sorts, has “made it quite easy to build the apps.” The team of two developers along with Okaro built the app in just five weeks.

Peter Burrows & Olga Kharif:

A main concern is whether the company can find a product to compensate for slowing sales of the iPhone, which has gross margins of around 55 percent, roughly twice that of iPads and Macs. An Apple watch could carry margins that high, said Bloomberg Industry’s Srinivasan.

Apple jeszcze nie pokazało żadnego produktu w kategorii zegarków ani telewizorów, a analitycy już liczą ile zarobią. Pamiętacie co myślę o analitykach?
