The new chip has the same 50 Mbps upload speed limit, however, and real-world performance is likely to be closer to 225Mbps or lower, depending on the cellular network.

The newer processor also is more power efficient, according to Qualcomm, which could mean improved battery life when the iPhone 6S is used for LTE functionality.

Want to lose some weight, but don’t really know how to start? A couple of years ago, I was in the same position. I was mostly sedentary, my waist measurement was creeping up steadily, and I didn’t feel very confident about my body being on display when I went on holiday.

I got married a few years ago, and the breaking point for me was when I first had to buy a larger pair of trousers so I could wear the suit again for another event, and then, later, when even those trousers had started to cut into me. I decided that it was time to make some changes – and so I did.

Today, I’m in a different position. It was my 36th birthday this month, and I was packing a suitcase for a holiday. I needed some shorts, and I managed to dig out an old pair I’d used a couple of years ago. I took a photo of myself wearing them now, without even stretching the elastic.

Rumors that the iPhone 6S would receive a dual-lens camera system appear to be dashed given the rear shell’s seemingly identical holes for camera, microphone, and LED flash. Apple Inc. has started early production of new iPhone models with a feature called Force Touch, which senses how hard users are pressing down on a screen, people with knowledge of the matter said.

Its newest iPhones, in the same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions as the current iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus devices, will have a similar exterior design, the people said. Volume manufacturing is scheduled to ramp up as soon as next month, they said.

Nie pamiętam skąd wzięła się plotka o tym, że będzie tylko jeden model iPhone’a 6S, ale byłby to strzał w stopę dla firmy z Cupertino – zaskakująco dużo ludzi lubi większy model. A co do Force Touch to nie mogę się doczekać do czego wykorzystają go developerzy.

Earlier this evening, I complained on Twitter about the Caps Lock function on the iOS keyboard.

The obvious solution to this problem is to train myself to always always always switch to Drafts before typing anything on my phone. If Drafts doesn’t have the transformation I want already built in, it’s usually pretty easy to add it through a JavaScript keyboard extension. And indeed, as was first pointed out to me by Tim Nahumck, there’s an UPPER keyboard extension, written by Greg Pierce himself, in the Drafts Action Directory. I now have that and the similar lower extension on my Drafts keyboard bar.

The JavaScript extensions model has been great for many use cases, but there is one category of extensions where members of the WebKit project felt we should do better: the content blocking extensions. Such extensions are the most popular kind; they let users decide what should load and not load, who can track them, what should be visible on pages, etc.

The reason we are unhappy about the JavaScript-based content blocking extensions is they have significant performance drawbacks. The current model uses a lot of energy, reducing battery life, and increases page load time by adding latency for each resource. Certain kinds of extensions also reduce the runtime performance of webpages. Sometimes, they can allocate tremendous amounts of memory, which goes against our efforts to reduce WebKit’s memory footprint.

It is an area were we want to do better. We are working on new tools to enable content blocking at a fraction of the cost.

One new feature, we are developing allows describing content blocking rules in a structured format ahead-of-time, declaratively, rather than running extension-provided code at the moment a decision about blocking needs to be made. This model allows for WebKit to compile the ruleset into a format that’s very efficient to apply to loads and page content.

O ile testy wykonane przez Rachel Metz nie są przeprowadzone w zgodzie z żadną metodologią, mogą wskazywać na to, że Watch wcale nie jest urządzeniem dokładnym i daleko mu do opasek fitness, a tym bliżej jest Microsoft Band. Potwierdza to także niejako tezę o tym, że Apple Watch to głównie dodatek, nowoczesna biżuteria, a nie stricte zaawansowane urządzenie elektroniczne. Z drugiej strony – czy użytkownicy Apple Watcha rzeczywiście przejmą się tym mankamentem? Śmiem szczerze w to wątpić – czujnik tętna to tylko dodatek.

O ile research do tekstu Jakuba nie został przeprowadzony z żadną metodologią to może wskazywać na to, że niejako potwierdza tezę iż można przeprowadzić nieprecyzyjne porównanie różnych przedmiotów oraz być może uzyskać wyniki, których się szuka.

Now.. forgive me if I’m wrong, but if you take points 2 and 3 in that contract (which is provided to Photographers who need to agree to those terms before they are allowed to do their job in photographing you for editorial outlets), it appears to be a complete rights grab, and demands that you are granted free and unlimited use of our work, worldwide, in perpetuity. You say in your letter to Apple that “Three months is a long time to go unpaid”. But you seem happy to restrict us to being paid once, and never being able to earn from our work ever again, while granting you the rights to exploit our work for your benefit for all eternity…

How are you any different to Apple? If you don’t like being exploited, that’s great.. make a huge statement about it, and you’ll have my support. But how about making sure you’re not guilty of the very same tactic before you have a pop at someone else?
